Be Motivated!
2022-06-05
The motivation letter is best underscored by a good CV, not the other way around.
You can have the best and cleanest CV, but if you fail to show why you deserve that job you’re applying to, you’re likely to miss out. Conversely, you can make up quite a bit in CV cleanliness by letting recruiters know about your motivation for that specific job and creating a good first impression.
Length of the Motivation Letter
The not so helpful answer here is not too short, not too long - the more captivating the longer it can be, but get to the point. Recruiters are (also) on the clock and have to sift through a great number of application to pick the few that stand out in a short amount of time. However, if the motivation letter is too short, it may elicit arrogance, laziness or other unwanted emotions. There are obviously bold and daring exceptions. Sometimes you have to take a calculated risk to stand out.
Your motivation should show that you know what company you’re applying to, your super strengths and why you’re the perfect match for that job.
Take your time to write a decent motivation letter. Use the opportunity to set the stage for a recruiter to study your profile.
